The Enchanted Forest is inhabited by giant spiders. The spiders are loosely fixed to the web by entangling their legs. Move the spiders around and add as many as you like. You may use the Spider Set as an overlay for the Enchanted Forest Set or any other location you want to make scary. You find the print files at the Theatre Page.

Teddy’s Theatre: Cloud Set
4 09 2011Teddy is much fascinated by old fashioned cloud machinery. Unfortunately his Theatre is not steady enough to support a heavy flexible gadget. Teddy must make do with a fixed set up.
You find the set pieces at the Theatre Page. When you cut out, take care to take away all of the darker line along the openings.

Teddy’s Theatre: Enchanted Backdrop
2 09 2011You will find a new Enchanted Forest backdrop at the Theatre Page. The backdrop goes well with the various set pieces for tent and cogwheels. Anna dropped by for the weekend and sketched the design. I did the colouring.

Teddy’s Theatre: Tente d’Agamemnon
23 08 2011Visiting Drottningholm we were so lucky to acquire a copy of Barbro Stribolt’s Scenery from Swedish Court Theatres. The book includes reproductions of all still existing set pieces from the time of Gustav III and some sketches. Teddy studied the book carefully and decided that the set pieces he liked best were those of Tente d’Agamemnon. The sketches were made by Jacob Mörck in 1786 – possibly derived from an original by J.D. Dugourc. The tent would fit Teddy’s outing to the Enchanted Forest perfectly. I made a simple reinterpretation. The set pieces are now included at the Theatre Page. However, I realize there is still a serious need of a proper enchanted forest backdrop.

Teddy at Drottningholm
15 07 2011Teddy and I went to Stockholm to study Swedish court theatres and royal follies from the time of Gustav III. In particular Teddy wanted to check out the theatre at Drottningholm Palace. We had a thorough look and even went back stage and pulled the ropes of the thunder machine. Later we admired the Chinese Pavilion and the Dragoon Guards’ tent. We went to Haga Park to see the Sultan’s copper tents, to Ulriksdal Palace and to Gripsholm Castle also housing beautiful theatres. At Gripsholm we had a chance to go below stage to study the wooden mechanisms for changing the set pieces.
