Heart #045 Saint Patrick’s Day

Heart 045  Heart 045 2

Saint Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated annually on 17 March. The day commemorates Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461) and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, as well as celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, céilithe, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks. Traditionally, shamrock is said to have been used by Saint Patrick to illustrate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity when Christianizing Ireland in the 5th century (Wikipedia).

We celebrate Saint Patrick by making a four-leaf clover in a golden heart. Weave in the same way as explained for Heart #042. For this heart the pieces on Page 1 and Page 2 make one part and the pieces on Page 3 and Page 4 the other. Take care of not damaging all the small tips and narrow strips tending to get entangled while you are weaving. You may ease the weaving process by fixing the pairs of strips to be woven as one with a little glue just near the crease.

For those of you, who live in Northern Jutland. Remember the 3D workshop in Ålborg the coming Thursday. We shall be making Easter Eggs, Rockets and Hot Air Balloons.
